Great phone - only problem with it is that the keyboard does not light up.
It seems to become unreliable outside, beyond 150 feet and two stories down from the transmitter. My son liked it so well he bought a set for his house.
They fall off the wall, the cord pulls the coffee pot off the counter top. Phones and I usually don't get along well.
I liked is so well, I bought four of them. This one doesn't do any of that, it just works like a phone should.
The ringer is loud enough so you can find out which cushion it's hiding under. The only complaint would be the range.
So I just use it at home.
This is the best and the least expensive cordless phone set I have ever owned. One handset and an answering machine cost about the same as one handset of my old Panasonic setup. Compared to the old set, which was state of the art at the time I bought it several years ago, this set has longer battery life, more easily obtainable, relatively cheaper batteries, and longer range. I can't say enough good things about it, so I won't.
My entire six handset system is great. The range is quite far - I can take it all the way out to the mailbox which is across the sizeable lot upon which our home is located. I was looking for a replacement to an old AT&T cordless system of four handsets. My favorite feature of this system is the handset itself- it fits much more comfortably in my hand and against my ear than our old AT&T system. The LCD display is clear and easy to read, the volume on each handset is wide and varied enough to please everyone in the family, and each handset can choose from 18 different tones or melodies for further personalization. My family loves the intercom system which allows us to call different handsets within the house for personal conversations. The only con to this system is that at times while I am talking, it sounds like the phone cuts out but my caller always assures me the sound difference is on my end only so I've grown accustomed to it.
Another great feature is the ability to listen to messages left on the answering unit from any handset in the house - either on the speaker or privately. I purchased this Panasonic system of four handsets and upgraded by purchasing an additional two handsets. I have never had issues with where the base unit is located (atop the entertainment center in our living room) as far as interference, etc. No more yelling through the house. Plus, there is no external antenna so the handset is smooth and sleek. No more standing around the base unit or dialing up a bunch of codes for voice mail. I am very pleased with my purchase, would make the purchase again, and recommend this product to anyone who is looking for just a plain, 'normal' cordless telephone system.
For the price this phone system has excellent features and very good clarity. The locator feature alone is priceless. My wife is hearing impaired and has little trouble hearing on these phones. The system is very user friendly and I would highly recommend it for single line home use.
